History of the Silver Creek Neighborhood Association

When Silver Creek was developed in the early 1990s, the builder did not establish a mandatory neighborhood association. Several volunteers certified Silver Creek Neighborhood Association Inc. as a not-for-profit organization with the State of Oklahoma on October 31, 1995. They built the beautiful front entrance on NW 159th and N May. They did this by reaching out to the community for donations to build and maintain it. Over the years, those volunteers have moved or passed away.

Around the Neighborhood

September 24, 2024—a Day to Remember in Silver Creek and Seminole Point

It’s a date etched into the memories of every resident in Silver Creek, Seminole Point, and the nearby neighborhoods. On this day, a devastating hailstorm swept through our area, leaving behind a trail of destruction. The storm caused widespread damage to roofs, gutters, windows, cars, fences, and more—nearly every home and vehicle bore the brunt of its fury.

In the aftermath, our neighborhoods became a hive of activity. Roofing companies quickly descended upon the area, canvassing for customers and initiating a long and noisy recovery process. For months now, the daily soundtrack has been the rhythmic pounding of hammers, the growl of trucks delivering supplies, and the bustling of work crews from dawn until well past sunset. This flurry of activity has been a constant reminder of the storm’s impact and our collective effort to rebuild.

However, amidst the chaos, one individual has quietly emerged as a local hero. Billy, a dedicated resident of Seminole Point, has made it his mission to keep our streets safe. Over the past six months, he has been regularly patrolling the neighborhoods of Silver Creek, Seminole Point, and surrounding areas, meticulously searching for nails and other debris left behind by construction crews.

His efforts have likely saved countless tires from being punctured, sparing neighbors the frustration and expense of unexpected flat tires. The photo accompanying this post showcases the astonishing results of Billy’s hard work over the last six months. They serve as a testament to his commitment to our community and the difference one person can make. Let’s take a moment to appreciate and thank Billy for his tireless efforts in keeping our streets safe and our recovery process just a little bit smoother.

Silver Creek Entrance Refreshed

The members of the Silver Creek Neighborhood Association Board and a few residents from Silver Creek recently spruced up the planters at the main entrance on May Avenue. The SCNA Board used Memorial Day sales to buy bagged mulch at a discounted price ($10 for 5 bags) to make the most of the funds contributed by the residents.

2025 Annual Dues

2025 neighborhood dues of $50 will be due on January 1, 2025. Enhancing the appearance of the front entrance has A very beneficial effect upon the property value of the community and your home.

If you would like to pay in advance, you can bring a $50 check payable to SCNA to the annual meeting or, if you prefer:

2 EASY WAYS TO PAY

1. BILL PAY: Send a check directly from your bank. Set up SCNA as a Payee in your banking app and submit a payment.

2. CHECK/CASH - Make your check payable to SCNA

Put you check or cash into an envelope and deliver it to Nancy Bettis at 16021 Himalaya Ridge, Edmond, OK 73013.

*Checks Our preferred for accounting purposes, however, will accept cash and provide a receipt. If mailing your payment, you'll need to add postage. You may also call/text Linda Gulley at 405 816 9683 to pick up your payment.

Your annual dues go toward annual maintenance costs, such as electric, water, weed control, and mowing of common areas. We do our best to conserve funds, however, last year there were expenses for sprinkler repair, mulch, fertilizer, and tree trimming. Were required by the city to keep the lawn trimmed, but will have to stop weed control, watering, an electric service (Including lighting) If we don't receive your annual dues.

LESS THAN HALF...

Of our residents pay their dues!

How are neighborhood looks affects all of our property values.  WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We want to keep manual dues at $50 per household, but for too many years now, we have been short on funds due to non payment.

Your neighborhood association board and block captains are all volunteers and have worked for our community for years. If you can pay more than $50 or help remind neighbors to pay, we would appreciate it. If you are unable to pay $50 per year, the association could use more volunteer support.

If you have any questions, please call Linda Gulley at 4O5-816-9683.
